Lead Engineer (EM Integration)

The Lead Engineer will support the development of specific systems and components (hydraulic and/or electro-hydraulic). These projects can be new developments, serial implementations, cost reductions, standardization…

The Lead Engineer will:
Support the scalable design generic development

• Maintain calculation tools for a specific application
• Develop a deep understanding of the working principle, including analyzing measurements
• Translates the calculation tools and working principles in a structured system for the team
• Has a good understanding of the scalable cost structure.
• Keeps the overview over all applications and drives communalities

Supports RFQ and application work for first adopter

• Supports the application engineer with the complete RFQ / RFI for a demo or a serial development.
• Support discussions with OEM
• Steer internal CAD design activities
• Leads design discussions with key suppliers
• Analyses the load case input, initiates FEA activities and runs FEA / CAD optimization loops.
• Is able to support a detailed sizing activity of the technology with the customer and is able to discuss the system performance in depth.
• Is able to support ride work activities with advanced technologies
• Delivers in detail developed application BOM

Supports discussions with Global Purchasing and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

• Master degree in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering
• Able to work with Matlab / Simulink
• Good knowledge of MS office applications.
• Excellent communication skills
• Good knowledge of English
• Knowledge of French and/or German is an asset.
• Creative approach but practical and grounded, determined to find solutions
• Organized and systematic approach
• Willingness to travel on an ad-hoc basis to visit customers / suppliers abroad
• Able to operate independently within a team structure
• Able to take responsibility for a project within a team structure but utilizing the strength of the departmental resources to optimize the final product.
• Experience in the design or manufacturing of hydraulic systems and/or electro-mechanics, preferably in the automotive industry
• Experience with DFMEA and the use of 6 sigma tools is an asset
• Background in scalable design history is an asset
