Project Manager - Automation

For a long-term assignment at our client - a flourishing pharmaceutical company - we would like to expand our team with a consultant "Project Manager - Automation".

As Project Manager - Automation, you will be part of the project team that is dedictaed to ensuring the succesful delivery of all CAPEX Automation Projects, in accordance with esthablished plans and prioritizing Safety and Quality Standards. In your role as Project Manager, you will report directly to the Head of CAPEX Automation Projects for Belgium and will be tasked with executing projects related to Cyber Security, Data Integrity, Automation obsolescence, and other upcoming initiatives.

Function:

• You will operate in accordance with the PMF (Project Management Framework) procedures and comply with EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) Requirements.
• Your responsibilities encompass the entire project lifecycle, from Conceptual/Basic Engineering to Hand-Over and Close-Out phases, ensuring that project outcomes align with defined objectives (cost, timing, quality, safety, etc.).
• As the owner of one or more Automation Project or Programs with budgets ranging from 1m€ to > 20m€, you will be accountable for project cost estimation, cost control and forecasting.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will assemble the necessary project team. Furthermore, close collaboration with the Automation technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) team is essential for scope development and defining the technical strategy of the project.
• You must give due consideration to project quality by establishing a Quality Plan, generating monthly progress reports according to PMF standards, and keeping the Steering Group and Sponsors informed of critical issues that could potentially impact project success.
• Implementing rigorous project and financial controls, including procedures for change control/management, cost control/forecasting, physical progress/productivity measurement, and invoice review/payment, will be crucial to your role.
• It is imperative that you ensure an overall commissioning, validation, and handover strategy that fully complies with the PM Standard, facilitating a timely and complete handover to the Customer.

Basic Qualifications:

• Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Automation, Electrical or Chemical.
• Robust experience with automation projects.
• Background in the pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Min. 8 years of CAPEX Project management experience…as PM or Program Manager.
• PMP certification is a plus.
• Strong leadership skills & proven team management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Organizational skills.
• Stake holder management & negotiation & influencing skills.
• The role requires sound judgment and complex decision making where few precedents and considerable ambiguity may exist.
• Experience in a Change Management project.
• Knowledge of specific Automation subjects as Data Management & Data Integrity, Obsolescence management, Cyber Security, process control systems is a plus.
